Factors to Consider Before Buying BlackBerry Cases

Mobile phones have become some of the most important devices to people in modern society. In fact, most would find it unimaginable to live without one. Continuous technological advancements have caused people to become more and more reliant on electronics. These developments have also resulted in better performing devices than ever before. New technological innovations are also the reason why BlackBerry phones are so popular in the current cell phone market.

Owners of Blackberry devices know how essential it is to have accessories that complement their phones’ functionality. There are many categories of accessories available as well as a wide selection of designs for each accessory. All cell phone users are familiar with the devastation of scratching, chipping or shattering their devices. Like all cell phone brands, BlackBerry models are not immune to scratches and other physical damages, so it is necessary for users to acquire proper protection.

This is exactly where BlackBerry cases come in handy. The cases will protect your device from internal as well as external damage resulting from the all too common bumps and drops. The importance of protective cases should not be underestimated when the lifespan of an expensive product is at stake. Phone cases should be the first accessory every BlackBerry owner purchases. The wide selection of colors, materials and designs available give users more freedom to express their style and creativity. Other than aesthetic appearances, there are particular factors you should consider when selecting a case for your BlackBerry device.

First and foremost, every user should choose a case to suit his or her lifestyle. Because BlackBerry users are constantly on their devices, it is important to ensure that the case is impact resistant, low profile and durable without  compromising the device’s functionality. Also determine how comfortable the case is for convenience in transportation. For users who frequent the outdoors, it is essential to use a heavy duty case for extra protection. It should have durable protection of the screen as well as a strong belt clip. For formal or work events, go for an inconspicuous and low profile case that is easy to carry in your pocket.

The most important factor that many users forget to consider is whether or not the case allows access to the BlackBerry’s buttons and ports. A case without the proper cutouts would hinder the device’s functionality by requiring removal of the case to simply push buttons.

How to Increase the Free Space and Battery Power of Your BlackBerry

There are lots of ways through which you can increase the productivity and efficiency of your BlackBerry phones. They are fully loaded with great features and applications. They use a good amount of storage space and battery power to deliver the expected output from them. For this reason, it is important to have free space on your phone. They also use a great part of your battery power. In order to avoid such issues, you need to free up some space in your phone at regular intervals. You can also save the battery power by using some simple tips.

You can check the available free space in your device by selecting the Device and Status Information from the options menu in the home screen. The flash memory in your phone is frequently used to store certain files needed for its smooth working. These phones have a special application called as low memory manager application to free up the flash memory when it is full. It will run automatically without affecting the normal functioning of your phone. You just need to accept the request from that application to delete some of the unwanted or old files in your memory. You can also restrict the application from removing important files.

Even though BlackBerry phones have provided an option to run automatically in low memory times, it is better to keep checking the status of your flash memory and freeing up space manually. You can also use extra memory cards to save your favorite music and video files. You can also remove some unused applications and features from your phone to free up good amount of space. Another effective way of freeing up space is to remove unused languages. This way you can store a very large amount of flash memory. You can also set your phone’s routine settings to delete irrelevant messages, emails and more automatically.

Saving the battery power is another important activity because, by insensible usage of these phones, you may lose power very fast. Make sure you access all your frequently used applications using the shortcut icons from the main screen. Setting the auto turn off and turn on feature available on the phone is also a better way to save the power of your battery when it is not being used. Turning off data and GPS services when they are not in use is also a very good option to save a great amount of battery. Follow the above tips and enjoy all capabilities of your phones.

BlackBerry Curve 8900 vs BlackBerry Bold 9000

Comparison between two BlackBerry phones can prove to be a Herculean task, as they appear to many people to be more or less the same. However, their differences go beyond their names and costs. Two devices that you should compare are the Bold 9000 and the Curve 8900. Which one of these would be the best for you? There is no uniformity in the likes and preferences of individuals and therefore the ultimate choice will be a function of many variables. Of course people will try to match their requirements and financial muscle with the features and the cost of the device. What makes the Bold 9000 different or similar to the Curve 8900?
The BlackBerry Bold actually is larger compared to the Cure and comes with a larger screen than the Curve’s 2.4 inch screen. Ironically, the Curve, despite having a smaller screen, has a higher screen resolution at 480x360 pixels compared to the 480x320pixels of the Bold.
One similarity between the BlackBerry Curve 8900 and the Bold 9000 is their operating system, which is OS 4.6. The Curve incorporates a customizable interface which incorporates numerous application shortcuts and icons, making it look complex. The 4.6.0.167 Operating system of the Bold allows it to receive HTML format emails so one is in a position to send images using email.
Another noticeable difference between the two devices is the memory capacity. The Bold actually has half the memory capacity of the Curve. The Curve 8900 has 256 MB RAM, while the Bold 9000 has 128 MB RAM. Both devices can have their internal memories expanded via a Micro SD slot. While the Bold 9000 may be expanded using a maximum of 8 GB, the Curve takes twice that capacity, at 16 GB. As for the battery, the Bold 9000 runs for less hours compared to the Curve 8900.
Noticeably different too is the camera capacity. The Bold 9000 comes with a 2 megapixel camera which is less than the 3.2 megapixels camera of the Curve 89000. This means that you will have better images with the Curve 8900 than the Bold 9000.
One area where the Bold 9000 beats the Curve 8900 is the speed of the internet connectivity. The Curve incorporates an HTML browser, but is devoid of 3G support. This therefore implies that its internet connection would be noticeably slower than the Bold, but both phones have their strengths and weakness and therefore the best device would depend on an individual’s requirements.
