BlackBerry Curve 8900 vs BlackBerry Bold 9000

Comparison between two BlackBerry phones can prove to be a Herculean task, as they appear to many people to be more or less the same. However, their differences go beyond their names and costs. Two devices that you should compare are the Bold 9000 and the Curve 8900. Which one of these would be the best for you? There is no uniformity in the likes and preferences of individuals and therefore the ultimate choice will be a function of many variables. Of course people will try to match their requirements and financial muscle with the features and the cost of the device. What makes the Bold 9000 different or similar to the Curve 8900?
The BlackBerry Bold actually is larger compared to the Cure and comes with a larger screen than the Curve’s 2.4 inch screen. Ironically, the Curve, despite having a smaller screen, has a higher screen resolution at 480x360 pixels compared to the 480x320pixels of the Bold.
One similarity between the BlackBerry Curve 8900 and the Bold 9000 is their operating system, which is OS 4.6. The Curve incorporates a customizable interface which incorporates numerous application shortcuts and icons, making it look complex. The 4.6.0.167 Operating system of the Bold allows it to receive HTML format emails so one is in a position to send images using email.
Another noticeable difference between the two devices is the memory capacity. The Bold actually has half the memory capacity of the Curve. The Curve 8900 has 256 MB RAM, while the Bold 9000 has 128 MB RAM. Both devices can have their internal memories expanded via a Micro SD slot. While the Bold 9000 may be expanded using a maximum of 8 GB, the Curve takes twice that capacity, at 16 GB. As for the battery, the Bold 9000 runs for less hours compared to the Curve 8900.
Noticeably different too is the camera capacity. The Bold 9000 comes with a 2 megapixel camera which is less than the 3.2 megapixels camera of the Curve 89000. This means that you will have better images with the Curve 8900 than the Bold 9000.
One area where the Bold 9000 beats the Curve 8900 is the speed of the internet connectivity. The Curve incorporates an HTML browser, but is devoid of 3G support. This therefore implies that its internet connection would be noticeably slower than the Bold, but both phones have their strengths and weakness and therefore the best device would depend on an individual’s requirements.
