Samsung Galaxy S Versus Samsung Galaxy S2

There is stiff competition in the world of smartphones. Manufacturers and designers are constantly coming up with more ways to turn the ordinary cell phone into a computer, fitting them with numerous gadgets and applications to enable it to be labeled ‘smart.’ They venture into this because that is what the market demands. People want a phone that is all-around, both a communication and entertainment device, at a reasonable price. This is what Samsung has been able to accomplish. It has brought the Samsung Galaxy S and the Samsung Galaxy S2 to the public. The two are manufactured by the same company but are different in features. With smartphones, even the tiniest difference counts.

Being the first of its line, the Samsung Galaxy S is unique in terms of size, and could be considered as one of the biggest in the market. This is because of the large 4-inch screen. The size is disproportionate to its weight, because this gadget is just a little over 115 grams. One might think that since it is big, then it must be heavy. Most smartphones are considerably heavier than others. However, the Samsung Galaxy S2 is an even bigger phone, compared to its predecessor. It has a whooping 4.3-inch AMOLED touch screen and is 3 grams lighter. This may not be much on paper, but on the phone, one can definitely feel the distinction.

The cameras on both the Samsung Galaxy S and Samsung Galaxy S2 are top-of-the-range, both capturing high definition photos and videos. However, there is a minute difference – the Galaxy S has 5 megapixels but the Galaxy S2 has 8 megapixels. The 3 megapixel difference makes quite a distinction when it comes to the results. Although both cameras capture high quality pictures and videos, the Samsung Galaxy S2 is the superior of the two Samsung phones. With regard to the camera, the Galaxy S2 comes outfitted with an LED flash. The Galaxy S does not have this feature.

Smartphones capitalize on installing the most efficient processors and memory capacities they can find. These two Samsung phones have been able to do that. The Samsung Galaxy S and Galaxy S2 both pack a very powerful operating system – Android. The difference comes in the variety of versions, the Galaxy S has version 2.1 Éclair and the Galaxy S2 has the latest version 2.3 Gingerbread. With this, the Galaxy S2 is superior since it has access to many more applications and can carry out more tasks. These Samsung phones truly are a class of their own, but choosing which one to get is the difficult part.
